A huge chunk of being in a relationship is working through challenges with your partner. After all, there are no perfect relationships. It all begins with two imperfect people coming together to navigate through life. At the end of the day, perfect isn't something that we should strive for when settling into married life.
With that said, wives have tales to tell about their husbands' quirks. Better yet, a majority managed to capture some of their spouses' mess-ups on camera. These accounts and photos just remind us how marriages can also be light and funny. Most importantly, these will show us how to get past the misunderstandings...
A Sweeping Mess
There are chores that wives assign their husbands like taking the trash out or handling most of the heavy lifting around the house. It doesn't mean that they can get away with making a mess and leaving it behind.
Case in point is a wife who asked her husband to sweep up some mess. To his credit, he did exactly as he was instructed. The only problem is that he didn't complete the job. She should have been more specific and told him to sweep up and throw the mess in the trash.
Necessity Is The Mother Of Invention
Who doesn't love coming home to the sweet glorious smell of something baking in the oven? Husbands will do anything to offer a helping hand if it means that they get to enjoy a delectable treat in the end.
This man's wife tasked him with whipping up some cream and he got down to business. It might have been his first time working with whipping cream or he possibly just couldn't trace the whisk. That's why he turned to a trusted tool to get the job done. If anything, we've learned that a drill has an unconventional use in the kitchen.
Self Control Is Difficult
Exercising self-control is something we all struggle with daily. However, just ask a husband who has been placed on a special diet by their significant others and they'll tell you it's hell. They have to become creative to literally have their cake and eat it.
That's why this husband for whatever reason figured that taking bites of the donuts they had lying around the house wasn't too bad. The only problem is that he left several bites of evidence behind. We think he would have just been better off having an entire donut because moderation is key.
Tough To Ditch Your Own Party
Life has turned most of us into introverts who would rather stay indoors and enjoy our own company. After five to six days spent putting in long hours at work, the last thing most of us want is to go out. On the other hand, the ever rocketing cost of living makes the majority of us pick up extra hours at work.
That's why we can somehow relate to the husband above who would have rather picked up an extra shift he was offered at work instead of going to a party with his wife. The only problem is that they were the ones hosting the Christmas party.
Machines Don't Always Help
No one likes doing the dishes, at least no one we've encountered. That's why when a husband offers to get the chore done or even does it without being asked, it's one of those small kind gestures wives truly treasure.
The best thing about washing the dishes in our century is the nifty invention most of us have in our kitchens. The dishwasher revolutionized how we get this chore done, only that most people aren't too accustomed to using the device. What we see above is the recipe for turning your wife's smile into a frown.
When Even The Linens Won't Cooperate
After the dishes, getting the laundry done is yet another chore we aren't too fond of. The washing machine and dryer get the bulk of the work done, and all that's left is ironing and folding. In most households husbands help with the folding as frequently as the laundry gets done.
Now the man above must have fumbled with this fitted sheet for longer than he should have. It wasn't his intention to leave it in a clumped heap, and he decided to explain his side of the story by penning down a note.
This Memory Foam's Got A Problem
Sleep can affect several aspects of our daily lives. But thankfully, we have inventions like memory foam cushions that sort things out. We imagine after several nights spent tossing and turning, the husband above obliged his wife's request to get one of these memory cushions.
We imagine that the husband is a budget shopper and may have been swayed by discount prices when making the purchase. That's how he forgot the most important aspect which was getting the right size. On the other hand, perhaps he just felt like he didn't need the memory foam on his side of the bed.
The Human Rodent
Cheese lovers know just how important it is to store their favorite block as much as it is to enjoy the dairy product. In fact, apart from people who are lactose intolerant, we can't imagine that there's a long list of people who don't like cheese.
Looking at the photo above we have to think twice about that statement. It seems like the household above has a rather unusual rodent in the loose because the husband finds it too irresistible to avoid digging his teeth into it. It couldn't have been hard to cut out a slice to enjoy, but this husband decided that it was just too much trouble for him.
The "Handy" Husband
Husbands are very handy around the house we must admit. They'll fix what needs repair and they are always happy to fix their significant others a drink. These are some of the little things that maintain harmony in a relationship but they may also be the source of disagreements.
This husband was helpful enough to fix his wife a drink. He only had one thing left to do before handing her the drink was to give it a stir. Well, who needs to use spoons or other stirring gadgets when our hands can get the job done?
Can't Stand The Heat
On the list of attributes we love about husbands, is the fact that they are very thoughtful. Case in point is the husband above who figured that he should fix his wife a meal to give her a break from the chore.
He must have seen his wife cook up countless meals and all he had to do was replicate what he saw. He just forgot that only ceramic and metal-made pots and pans handle heat well on the stove. This plastic plate didn't stand a chance and it ended up dampening a kind gesture.
"Frozen" Yogurt
It often falls on the spouse whose day sees them pass nearby a grocery store to pick up what's needed. This wife had a craving for some frozen yogurt and she asked her husband to pick some up on his grocery store run.
We figure that her husband sent her a photo of the brand he found just to make sure that he was picking up the right one. She was genuinely and hilariously taken aback because he was way off the mark. He got the yogurt bit right, but she most likely didn't want the Frozen-themed kind.
Spider On The Loose
The honest truth is that we all cohabit with several insects than we would care to admit. Take mosquitoes and insects, for instance, they seem to be everywhere. However, some bug spray is all that's needed to get rid of them.
The problem comes when critters like spiders crawl their way into our homes. The wife above had one request, she asked her better half to get rid of the spider in the bathroom. Judging from the note and the evidence left behind, it seems like he might have killed the bug and left it there to prove that he did. Worse still, he might not have done anything at all.
A Two-Carrot Ring
It always gets to that point when a wife asks her husband to upgrade her ring. Regular folks are just happy with a decent ring accompanying the big question. A few anniversaries later, and an upgrade is typically a great gift.
This husband might have heard his wife ask for a two-carat ring too many times and he decided to oblige. The only problem is that such rocks cost anywhere from $8K to $50K. He got her two carrots alright, and let's just say this is one of those moments where we'll say it's the sentiment that counts.
Pasta Ala Stove Top
Still, on cooking, we are starting to think that most husbands don't have any kitchen experience beyond enjoying the meals that come out of the room. Their significant others regularly request that they help fix something quick, but most cases end disastrously.
This husband's wife asked him to place the spaghetti on the stove to get dinner started. She just didn't think that he needed a step by step guide to going about it. He went the literal route and it didn't help with getting dinner done much quicker.
Too Short For Her Liking
We can appreciate that husbands will bring out the toolbox as often as needed to get DIY tasks done around the house. Hanging wall art and other similar tasks are things every husband handles on the occasion. Only that the task never goes quite as expected at all times.
This husband was tasked with putting up a mirror and he did. The problem is that he set it to his height, forgetting that his better half is much shorter than him. His wife must have been short on him after she saw the end product.
Fancy Feast For The Wifey
Those of us who hold down 9 to 5 jobs know that lunchtime offers a much-needed break. Just about everyone carries food from home because it's healthier and it also saves time. That's why this wife asked her husband to fix her something she could take with her to work.
She must have asked him to make her something fancy for lunch because he ended up delivering just that. He must have thought he grabbed a can of tuna and packed it for her, but it was actually some cat food.
Berries Are Not Made Equal
Berries are amongst the list of healthiest fruits to enjoy, and for anyone following the ketogenic lifestyle, they know how delectable they when jonesing for something sweet. Regularly, they make the perfect ingredients to add to pancakes, waffles, and a host of baked treats.
So this husband had to bring back home some raspberries and blueberries on a shopping trip. To his credit, we also didn't pick the problem at first glance because he actually got berries as instructed. Just that he got blackberries instead of blueberries. Better getting half the order correct than getting it entirely wrong.
Happy Birth
There's no better gift than childbirth but new mothers will tell you that any present they receive to help out with their little bundles is precious. Now, this wife had picked out the perfect gift for her friend who had just had a baby. All she needed was a carrier bag to deliver the gift.
She trusted her husband with the task and he added some creativity to the process. He got a carrier bag for a different occasion but hr made it work. All he did was block out the "day" from birthday and it reads "Happy Birth To You."
The Melting Mess
At this point, we have to give it to these husbands who have proven that they do think out of the box. Take this husband who decided to whip up something for his wife. He wanted to guarantee that the meal would keep warm until she got back home.
An idea popped into his mind and he thought that warming up the cutting board in the oven would do the trick. The only problem is that the plastic cutting board couldn't withstand the high temperature. We wonder who got to clean up the resulting mess after.
Achieving Symmetry
Most of us like to maintain perfect order and it’s all evident around our homes. It starts with how we choose to arrange our furniture, hang up art on the walls, and even how we store our groceries.
This husband just couldn’t stand how unbalanced the eggs appeared on the carton. He decided to add some ice cubes to the tray to achieve order and symmetry. Aesthetics aside, we can’t imagine the mess that would have been left behind once the ice cubes melted in the carton. Fortunately, it seems like the wife caught the irregularity in time.
Burnt Pastries With Love
We’ll keep saying it, most husbands are very thoughtful and they show it through kind gestures. Wives have also said it for years. It’s the simple things that count like taking out the trash and doing the dishes without being asked.
However, some husbands go the extra mile to make sure that their wives feel truly special. The one above bought his wife’s favorite pastries anticipating her return from a work trip. The next morning he tried to heat them up but he mistakenly set the heat to “grill.” Once again we’ll say, it’s the thought that counts.
Spending Some Quality Time With Dad
We have seen many videos floating around online showing the creative ways that dads spend time with their little ones. They always resort to activities that most moms would frown upon, but it’s still always heartwarming to see such photos or videos.
This dad had to put in some quality time with his young one but he also didn’t want it to interfere with his gaming schedule. He figured there wasn’t any reason why he couldn't do both, and it’s just adorable his little one looks as transfixed on the game as him.
Peel Half The Potatoes, Honey
Now, we know that most men love pranks and the victims are often their significant others. They are always lurking in the dark waiting to scare their unsuspecting spouses or they’ll purposefully put things where they don’t belong just for laughs.
That’s what must have happened here because we seriously doubt anyone could get this wrong. The wife might have asked her husband to peel half the potatoes and that’s exactly what he did. Perhaps the joke is on us and this is some new cooking technique that some of us haven’t heard of yet.
Two Doesn't Automatically Make A Pair
It isn’t every day that a wife would entrust her husband with their home decor process unless they work in the field. This wife might have thought twice about it after she saw what her husband brought back most probably from Bed, Bath & Beyond or IKEA.
They needed some decorative pillows and he brought back some. The only problem is the kind he bought because they seem like something that you would use to decorate a man cave. We believe they were meant for the living room and from the sofa pattern we make out, they don’t exactly fit into their decor theme.
Case Of The Pillows
Still talking about pillows, you can never have too many of them in the bedroom. They function as decorative and cushioning pieces in the room. They can cause a challenge when making the bed, at least that’s what we gather from the photo above.
This husband had to make the bed and couldn’t resist going for a different look. He might have wanted to shake things up and chose a different configuration to place their pillows. However, we think he was laying out the pillows according to who uses most of them.
Recycle And Save The World
Several tasks around the house need delegation. For instance, the wife can cook the meals and the husband can prep the ingredients. The husband may wash the dishes and the wife can dry them and put them away.
Then there is the whole task of wrapping and labeling gifts. Wrapping gifts is an art we must admit, and not everyone gets it right. The husband above must be very concerned about the environment and he decided to recycle old labels. At least the gift was going to someone who had gifted it to them in the past and we hope they laughed it off.
Sandwich In The Fridge
One of the other lessons we’ve gotten so far is the fact that husbands are the sort of people you want to give specific instructions. If you tell them to sweep, make sure to ask them to discard the waste in the bin afterward.
That’s what this wife learned the hard way when she told her husband to store her sandwich in the fridge. We assume it was hers because we can’t imagine any man leaving leftovers behind. He didn’t even try to preserve the sandwich in any way and looking at the photo conjures up images of a crusty or soggy sandwich.
Dirty Dishes In The Sink—Almost
Ask any wife out there the list of annoying things their husbands do and we bet there will be a couple of resounding ones. For instance, they leave the toilet seat up, they don’t clean up after themselves, and they don’t do the dishes.
Talking about the dishes, this husband couldn’t even place the dishes in the kitchen sink. He got them to the kitchen but he left the plate in a crazy balanced position. We just picture the worst happening. We think that close enough counts in some cases but, in this case, it’s the recipe for a disaster.
Cropped Muffin Tops
There’s nothing as glorious as coming back home to the aroma of baked treats. Most of the time, these treats are meant for dessert after dinner or for breakfast. This husband came back home to some blueberry muffins and he just couldn’t resist.
He must have started with one, eating out the crusty top and it went downhill from there. We don’t get his reasoning, and maybe he just enjoys the crusts more than the entire muffin. He left behind quite the sight and we think he might have denied that he was the culprit.
The Most Epic Hubby Selfie Goes To...
The union between husband and wife begins when they exchange vows. The big day is a big deal for every couple because it signifies the true start of their lives together. The photos taken during the wedding serve as pieces of memories to encapsulate the day.
The couple above decided to go for a selfie after jumping the broom. The groom might have missed the mark when framing the selfie or he did it intentionally. You can barely make out the bride’s face but on the upside at least she is in the photo.
